Saturday was a big win for us. We were able to move up in the standings and we beat a really good team. I loved our focus all week in practice and it seemed like everyone was on the same page. Coach did a good job of getting us prepared too. I hope this carries over to this week. We have a Polish Cup game on Wednesday in Warsaw and then a home game against Poznan this weekend. I really want to win these games so going into Christmas I feel really good because this will be my first Christmas away from family.
I spent yesterday in Gdansk at the Galeria Baltyka doing Christmas shopping for family and friends. It's hard to find the right gift for anyone but it makes it even more difficult when it's in another language. Take cards for instance, yesterday was my father's birthday and I wanted to get him a card but I couldn't find anything because I really didn't know what they said. I ended up just writing him a letter. One thing that really stood out about the mall yesterday was all the Xmas decorations and Xmas music. Now it wasn't as great as the "Singing Christmas Tree" I saw in Zurich while visiting this time last year, with one of my friends from the states (Tyler Carter) and a teammate from last year (Chris Grimm) but it did a great job of making me smile. I love this time of year, it's hard not to be happy and get into the Christmas spirit. Especially now that there is snow!
Well, that's about it for today. I hope everyone enjoys their Christmas break. I love and miss you. Until next time....................... Love
