18 - 7

As I've mentioned in past blogs it is always difficult for me to write you after a loss. Losing by one point is always a tough to stomach. Trefl played a great game and I have to tip my hat off to them. Thank you to the fans once again for your support. You guys have stuck by us all season and I know you guys will make it tough for our first opponent in playoffs. We have one more regular season game remaining and it's an away game against Poznan. I'm hoping we can get a win there so we can prepare for the playoffs coming off a win.
Following the game Lele and I went out to eat at our favorite restaurant in Starogard "La Cantina". Afterwards we stopped by Cafe Aruba for dessert, Piotr made homemade crepes for Lele before she went home. They were exquisite! I am so grateful to everyone for showing her such great hospitality and making her feel very welcome. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making her stay in Poland a fun and memorable one. As hard as it was to see her leave the next morning, I know I will see her again soon but hopefully not too soon because I wish for us much success in the playoffs. Until next time.......................................................... Love

3rd Place....

With an 18-6 overall record, we secured the regular season 3rd place spot with a victory over Stal Wola on Wednesday night. Not our best performance and I don't want to take anything away from Stal but we will take a win. Stal ran a version of the "Flex" offense, which means a lot of cutting and screening in a continuous manor. Both offensively and defensively we had our ups and downs, fortunately for us we were able to overcome those downs and pull out a W.
Thanks to the fans for your support. It's always great playing a team with that kind of advantage. I hope to see you all on March 27th against Trefl Sopot.
In conclusion, March Madness has began and I am rooting for 2 teams in particular, St. Mary's & Gonzaga. Both teams our in my Conference and with my team being eliminated in the Conference tourney I feel an obligation to root for these guys. St. Mary's already upset Richmond to move on to the next round and Gonzaga plays today. Good luck to the both of you.
Until next time................................................................................... Love

I'd like to thank the fans who made the trip to Warsaw. Once again you never seem to surprise me. You guys are great, loyal and extremely supportive. So great, I had to share this story because tonight at "La Cantina" (My favorite restaurant) Lele told me about when she walked out of the gym after the game with Marta (Patrick's) & Marta (Bibi's) the fans were outside waiting for the team and they had them walk through the tunnel of cheers like we do on our way to the bus. She absolutely loved it. So, thanks again for making her feel welcome.

That's all I got for you now but we have a game Wednesday against Stal Wola and I hope to see you all there. Until next time................................................................. Love

16 - 6

I am excited to be writing to you about our last game because we defeated the most recognized team in Poland and also considered one of the top 8 teams in Euroleague this year. Saturday night's win made us one step closer to our goal of finishing in the top 4 in the regular season. We had a great effort from everyone on the team, although one performance stood out the most and that was Patrick's 37 pts and 5 three pointers.

We can't take all the credit though, once again the fans help lift us to victory. In probably the largest gym we've played in all year it was our fans that distinctly stood out from the rest of the crowd. All game I could hear SKS! SKS! SKS! I even heard it 30 min after the game was over when I was exiting the gym to the bus where a crowd of a 100+ fans were outside in the freezing cold waiting for us to congratulate us. So, thanks to you, the fans, for all of your support not just this game but all year.

We spent our day off no different then all the past ones by going to the mall and watching a movie. This time we watched "Alice and Wonderland" in 3D, a far better choice then our prior one (The Wolfman). Lele made breakfast for Uros, Tony and myself so I gotta go but thanks again for your support and wish us luck against Polonia 2011. I love and miss you back home. Until next time.............................. Love

15 - 6

Wow! Well, where to begin, its been a long while since my last post. I will admit that I didn't post after our loss to Anwil because I didn't have much to say other than I was extremely disappointed. This past weekend we had a game against Turow a team that beat us earlier in the year at their gym. Before the game they were in 4th place and we were in 3rd. A win by them would move them one step closer to us in the standings. Thanks to a great effort by our team and incomparable support by our fans we were able to walk away with the victory. A much needed one at that. There are only 5 games left in the season now, a lot of things can happen, so every game from here on out is really important especially if we want to maintain our position and receive a high seed in the playoffs.

Because we had an early game it gave us a little extra time off so we did our usual and caught a flick. This time we chose a rather disturbing film called "The Wolfman" and frankly I am a movie lover but this film was not up to par. I think Lele would gladly second my opinion on this because she isn't the biggest fan when it comes to scary movies. There's 2 parts to this movie and I'm pretty certain we won't be seeing "Wolfman 2"... After a quick stop at KFC we made our way home and the next evening we were invited to the All-Sports Ceremony for the city of Starogard Gdanski that honors local athletes of all ages. The ceremony was quite entertaining there was a dance crew, gymnasts, flame twirler and an honorary guest who ran the 200m in 19.98 seconds. All in all even though everything was in Polish it was still fun to be apart of. A weekend well spent in my mind.

I hope all is well back home. I love and miss you. Thanks again to the fans for your incomparable support. Until next time................................ Love
